The Magic Eraser

Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser"...... sigh. It is my new best friend. Have you ever used one? Well, it is just grand I tell ya! Sure, it is good for getting marks off cabinets and walls, but have you ever used it for your tub or shower? Well, let me be the first to tell you (that is if you never have used it for that), it will clean your shower better than a monkey can pick the fleas off its baby! Just spray your cleaner on you shower and wet the eraser and wipe. Notice I didn't say scrub! That is right....the eraser does the elbow work for you! Since, discovering this little beauty's ability, I try to tell everyone I know. Why not make your life easier, too?

Do you have a neat cleaning secret that someone could benefit from?

Compost

Is this what it is suppose to look like? I really don't know. It's not very pretty or fancy, but I am just looking for a natural way to fertilize my garden and not the county trash pile!
My sweet daddy made the posts for me and gave me the plastic green fence to make it. He even drilled little holes in the posts for me to tie the fence to. He is a good daddy! Next, I loosened the dirt and now I just throw all my veggie and fruit scraps on it. Other decomposing things such as dying plants and leaves will do great in it also. Absolutely no meat and artificial foods, please! I turn the soil twice or more a week. My kids really like to do it, too. They ask if they can go rake the "soup". Cute.
Now this is not sitting in the middle of my yard, although it wouldn't be much of an eye sore as some things in my yard. :) I put it behind my shed out of seeing eyes passing by my house. My neighbors behind me, of course, get to gaze upon this beauty all the time! Lucky them! I should go knock on there doors and ask for them to save their scraps for my natural living! HAHA! Do you think they would do it?
So here is the start of my natural gardening. I think I'll like this way better than using manure. I just hope it gives me the results that I am looking for....of course, I mean, perfect veggies! Now...if I could only figure out a natural way to keep the bugs from eating them! I would have an organic garden! Have any ideas?

Almost Garden Time

AHHHH! This warm weather is teasing me so! I know we are probably just having a short warm spell, but it makes me ache for the time to plant my garden! I can taste the tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, and corn now! Oh!, the excitement!
I've been dreaming of a larger garden this year and had my heart set on one, but after research I've learned that bigger is not better! It's that way for several reasons. It's harder to keep the weeds out and keep the produce picked because of the hot summer days. I read this article (http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/articles/general-view/archive/2009/february/06/learn-and-live-well/)in a magazine I receive in the mail called No Greater Joy Magazine. First, let me say, if you are a parent I highly recommend this magazine! Just visit http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/magazine/ to sign up for their free magazine.
So now my dream is to have a garden like Debbi Pearl's garden. I just read this article a few weeks ago, so I am probably too late to do it like hers but I will be ready come fall. I have even started my own compost for fertilizer!! Pictures and how to do that is coming in the next post.
So I plan to plant more variety of vegetables but the square footage will be the same. So come on April! I'm ready to plant my veggies! Will you have a garden? What will you plant?

My Other Half

Almost 10 years ago, I met this handsome man. Now, he didn't quite look like this on the outside but I will tell you he caught my eye none the less. His blonde dreadlocks, patchwork pants, and bare feet self was sitting on the back row of my church one Sunday I came home to visit from college. Let me tell you, not my typical guy. But, here we are today....married with 3 kids. We'll celebrate our 9th anniversary in a few weeks. It's been a journey, but one that I would take all over again.

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. You can head over to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I totally did not try to come up with something to put on this post that I didn't do. I remember what happened last week. I have my head on straight and always remember everything that I don't do! Ahem.

With that, I will have to write down everything I do or should I say not do this week. I just had to play along because I am still very excited about my blog!!!!

The Burning

In just 6 days, we will be hosting The Burning (www.myspace.com/theburning21days). My husband, Greg, was given the desire to put together a citywide/countywide fast that would last for 21 days and end with a 8 hour worship and prayer event. The fast started February 1st and of course ends the 21st. During the 21 days a prayer guideline was given to help everyone focus and pray on specific areas in our city and county. Several churches have committed and everyone is super excited about all that is happening.WOW! To think that our community is coming together to pray and fast for a Godly change to happen is just mind blowing!! We have witnessed a move of God already in so many lives. We've seen at least 20 people give their lives to the Lord, several healed, and others just grow in an intense love of the Him! HE is WORTHY!!

So the main event which has been called The Burning will be held next Saturday the 21st from 10am to 6pm at Church on the Rise. We will be fasting, worshiping, and praying for 8 hours as a corporate body!!! WhooHoo!There will be 4 worship bands that will play 2 hours sessions with prayer times focused on government, leadership in churches, youth, evangelism, authority over the city, racism, and glorifying God. All these topics will be expanded and prayed about by several people.

We would love all our local believers to please come join us. We would love to have you and help us declare our county and city belong to God! If you are not local, please help us pray and we would thank you much!

Joel 2:12-13 "Yet even now", declares the Lord, "Return to Me with all your heart and with fasting, weeping, and mourning; and rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness and relenting of evil.

Welcome to Seasons of Life

Okay, so here it is...finally....the blog I have always wanted! (Sigh).
So often I have wondered will I always have to change wet sheets every morning? Will I always have to help with 2 hours of homework every night? Will I always have to clean up dog pee and poo off my floor? Will I always have ugly green countertops in my kitchen and bathrooms? Will I always work at a preschool? Will I always just be a "good Christian"? Will I ever get to fulfill my calling and do missions? Do you ever wonder things like that?

A couple of years ago, I was wondering will I ever get him potty trained? Will I always be a stay at home mom? Will I ever find a church home? Will I ever be used of God? In a year, I will be wondering will I always have to help with 4 hours of homework? Will I always have to pull out loose teeth? Will I always be learning new truths about God?
The answer is yes to some and no to others.

My point is there is a season for everything. When one season ends another will start. I hope to strive everyday to be a mother, a wife, and a child of God with joy in the season I am in. It is hard work being those things! Through this blog I hope to inspire you, pray for you, and put a smile on your face.

Welcome to Seasons of Life.....I hope you come back!
